There Will Be Cherries: Mandy Coe

Date: 18.5.16

In association with Writing on the Wall, the Dead Good Poets will be hosting the launch of Liverpool Poet Mandy Coe’s sixth poetry collection, There Will Be Cherries, to published by Shoestring Press.
Mandy’s poems have appeared in the Guardian, Radio Times and on BBC radio and television. She writes for adults and children and regularly works with galleries, museums and schools. Her work on teaching poetry has been published by Bloomsbury, the Times Educational Supplement and Cambridge University Press.
‘Mandy Coe is an original. No one looks at and writes about the world like she does… an almost Blakean sense of the divine in living things.’ Anthony Wilson, Lifesaving Poems (Bloodaxe).
‘Coe flashes vivid images in front of our eyes, crams them into our hands, and makes us see and feel particular things in ways we’ve never seen or felt them before... even her most fantastical poems are not ways of escaping reality but of re-entering it with fresh eyes. Any good poet presents things from unusual angles but Coe does so with extraordinary glee.’ Acumen.
